Keane will record for Warchild Charity Album!

Next month a second cd of “HELP- A DAY IN THE LIFE” will be recorded for Warchild charity!
The record marks the tenth anniversary of the legendary 1995 HELP album, which featured Orbital, Stone Roses, Paul McCartney, Blur, Massive Attack and Suede, and raised $3.6 million (GBP2 million) for children affected by war.
This year (05) more than 20 bands will attempt to beat War Child's previous world record for fastest album ever recorded. All artists are going to to record their contributions on 9, September (05) and aim to have the charity compilation ready and available to download on warchildmusic.com later the same day. A release will CD follow.
The HOPES AND FEARS stars Keane, are planning to cover Elton John´s: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
The Magic Numbers are going to participate too, will record a new song for the album, which is also set to feature Radiohead, Hard-Fi, Gorillaz, Razorlight, The Coral, Elbow and Maximo Park, amongst others.
Keyboard player Tim Rice-Oxley explained: "Every childhood should be a time for optimism and innocence. In many places it is instead a time of violent chaos, deprivation and fear. "

Keane forced to pull out of U2 support in Lisbon due to illness

"Tom´s got a serious throat infection. Apart from feeling terrible, he can´t sing at all at the moment. The doctor´s been round to see him and has ordered a week´s rest in bed.

We´re completely gutted about not being able to play the gig. It has been a dream come true playing with U2, and we were especially looking forward to playing in Lisbon- one of our favourite places on earth.

Our apologies to everyone who was hoping to see us playing on Sunday. We wish we could be there, and we´ll see you as soon as we can. Our thanks to Kaiser Chiefs for stepping up and taking over our slot- you´ll have the nights of your lives."

I saw this news on the website: http://www.keanemusic.com/. I hope Tom will get better soon, and I can say that I would have the night of my life if Keane had performance, so I hope they will give a concert here the soon as possible! And I would be tbhere!!!!

Are any of you superstitious?

Are any of you superstitious? Before going on stage, do you perform any rituals?

Tim: Not really. I try not to think about it too much actually, because I don't like to be waiting around for a gig. I'd rather be doing interviews or watching TV or reading a book - otherwise I'd just sit there getting nervous. But I'd much rather be relaxed and before I go on stage I always make sure I warm up stretching my muscles like a footballer, because it's a very physical thing playing music. If you're gonna rock out and move around a lot you have to make sure you're not going to injure yourself. I move my head a lot when I'm playing and if I haven't warmed up I get a really like a frozen sort of neck after the gig …Other than that not really. I think we like to just relax and have fun. You have to not take it too seriously, otherwise it becomes too scary. You have to forget about the fact that you're going to play to thousands of people and just remember it's the three of us playing music and having fun.

Tom: Not especially, but we did an interview the other day in Basel in Switzerland, and I was talking about how for a long time we used to think we were cursed as a band, just when you're not getting anywhere and it's something you love so much, and things go wrong, it can be quite disheartening and demoralising. So we used to think there was a curse on Keane, a "Kurse" with a Capital K we called that thing. So I said to this interviewer "But nowadays, we feel the curse has been lifted" (Laughs) which is a very stupid thing to say, because it turned out that night we were playing at the side of a truck, and it hadn't rained in Switzerland for three weeks, and then it started pouring with rain, and the promoters weren't prepared for it to rain, so the lights were steaming and smelling like they were burning, and the stage was really slippery, and you know, it's just one of those things when we thought the curse was back (laughs). I think the main thing is not to tempt fate now, so I shall remember that in the future.

On holidays I don't have the possibility of posting a lot but I will try!
